Today Ms. Miller introduced a new concept during art class: symmetry. The class learned that things that are symmetrical are the same on both sides- it's a new kind of pattern! To help each student see symmetry for themselves they created symmetrical art.
First, each child was given a folded page with paint down the crease.
Next, they folded their pages down and rubbed the paint between the two sides.
Finally, it was time to open the pages and see the symmetrical art that the had created.
We're excited to look for symmetry in other places- especially in the studio and when working with different types of blocks.
