Every Friday, we pair the students and have them take turns reading to each other. This is a great time for the students to work on many different skills: building confidence, speaking in whole sentences, recalling and retelling different stories and different books, taking turns, beginning to match words on the page to spoken words, as well as begin to sound out more familiar words.
It's important that you read to your child every day- but it's also important to encourage them to read to you! Favorite books and books without words are a great place to start.
