So far in our unit about using fewer resources, we have learned that that trees are important- they keep our air clean and provide a home to many animals, and we know that we have to cut down trees to make paper.
We have been keeping all the paper that gets 'thrown away' in our art studio the past few weeks. Today we went through the box.
We have been keeping all the paper that gets 'thrown away' in our art studio the past few weeks. Today we went through the box.
We found 27(!!) pieces of paper with almost no markings- almost all with one full side that could still be used.
After seeing all the 'wasted' paper, the class decided on two solutions:
-We can use paper from the recycling box if we want to draw on just one side. This is a great way to recycle.
-We can also use chalkboards and white boards to draw on if we want to practice writing and drawing, rather than using a piece of paper that we don't want to keep.
