Here at DGS, each grade has multiple excursions to take their learning outside. These excursions can be camping (3rd-8th grade), visiting the firehouse (1st grade), a trip to Moab (6th grade), or even a visit to the zoo (which ECE will do in the Spring). Today was our very first excursion: walking around the DGS building. This was an opportunity to talk about the school as a commons for all the kids in the school, practice excursion expectations (staying safe, listening, staying on the path), and investigating with our senses.
Today we visited the DGS Library for the first time. Every Friday, we will be visiting the library to hear new stories and look at the books. We won't be checking books out (this will begin in Kindergarten), but please check here if you'd like information about the Denver Public Library.
